Adrian Prince2 Jan 2022 - 17:31

-

Congratulations to everyone who has made it into the Cheshire Blades Team of the Year.

Challengers - Josh M
His commitment to learning, interacting with his teammates. He has made every training session and shown great improvement.

Lightning - Alfie S - Left Back
Alfie is a very dependable lad and his game is constantly improving he does what is required as a defender, he has a great attitude we have been with out a goal keeper at various times and Alfie steps forward to take on this role and has actually done ok as a keeper, he also turns up for training most times and does not miss an actual game. He is very gracious and appreciates his training etc, he deserves this recognition.

Wolves - Ollie - GK
The reason we have nominated Ollie is at the beginning of the season we didn’t think we would have a GK and he put himself forward as he previously played that position before and he hasn’t looked back he’s been incredible and is growing more confident every week.

Saints - Edward M - LWB
Started last season (never played before that) and got player of the season last year unbelievable really! This lad has an amazing attitude and just gets it! This season he has shown 100% effort & desire in every game. Driving up and down the wing defending tirelessly and attacking with confidence, talking to his team mates and contributing with goals and lovely left foot crosses. Also came back from a broken wrist this season as if he had not been away scoring an amazing solo goal on return. Dream to coach and his positive awareness is improving all the time too. We have seen massive improvement and great performances from all the lads this year so well done Edward.

Pumas - Issy M - Goalie and centre midfield
Issy has had a huge impact on the season. Shepherding at the back, marshalling midfield and even finding the back of the net, she has played the whole season with a smile, trains brilliantly and has a real coolness that has a huge impact on the team’s performance.

Eagles - Finn B
After a slow start has come into his own. He can be relied upon mid field, tackling the opposition without hesitation and usually winning the ball, passing it on to his team mates. He has also scored some cracking goals, which seemed to come out of nowhere. He is a very valued member of our team.

Raptors - Liam A - Right wing/right forward
Not only does Liam work 100% of the time on and off the ball, he constantly looks for the right pass. If the pass fails he goes to win it back. He tracks back to help the defence out. When he's attacking he's selfless if there's a better option. His crossing is getting better game after game. His speed and strength are second to none. He is lifting the standard of the team. His attitude is inspiring and kids want to be as good as him. I'd be surprised if he didn't play at a higher level!

Gunners - George G - Centre Back
The transformation in George this season has been unbelievable! To compliment his natural stonewall defending capabilities, George has worked tirelessly on his attacking attributes making him an incredibly difficult opponent to play against. George’s attitude and determination are years ahead of himself, hopefully it won’t be too long before he realises just how good he actually is!

Warriors - Connor R - Right Back
Over Connors 8 seasons with us he’s worked incredibly hard to master every position on the pitch. He’s been our solid centre back, rock in the midfield and our deadly striker - this past year he took on the challenge to nail the role of a RWB and he really hasn’t disappointed. The improvements he’s made to his game this year have been phenomenal alongside the reliability, maturity and dedication that he showcases week in week out.

Whirlwinds - Jake C - Centre Back
Jake makes defending look too easy whenever he steps on the pitch. His calmness, speed, drive and attitude are huge attributes to his game & his eye for a pinpoint pass alongside his darting dribbles through the midfield leave us speechless to say the least. He’s a fantastic captain and an absolute dream to coach.

Falcons - Abi L - Goal keeper
Week in, week out high standards of goalkeeping and the willingness and desire to keep improving. Hard work in training, which has started to show in matches this season.
She should be so proud of how she has developed and improved.
Bravo Abi

Rangers - Mackenzie B - Centre Forward
Mackenzie been getting better and better at finishing his chances. He’s bagged loads this past 12 months! Never missed training and always has a smile on his face.

Vipers - Hubert M - GK
He has pulled off some ridiculous saves this year, and has been praised by the opposing players, and managers on numerous occasions. In our last game a grandparent of an opposing player came over to praise him after the game.

Villa - Joe S - striker/attacking mid
Joe always looks a threat even when the chips are down for Villa (which has been fairly often!), wonderful feet and has scored some screamers. He does his fair share of helping the team defend too!
